We are moving home!!
They are back and with the mission as a complete success! Oisín and his mother were in Cork for only 4 days. On just getting used to the time difference in Cork, they upped sticks and came back home. The two of them exhausted, but the family here are delighted to have them back.

Fiona was 'doing' an interview for the good people of the university in Cork. She begin's work at the start of December 2007. We are going home!! The southern riveria of Ireland is going to be home to another clan.

It all has become quite real now. The price of property in Ireland, Creches and the lack of them (plus the price) makes it all the more fun. Of course moving home just before the winter solstice ensures that we maximise the Winter, so our bitching about the constant sun and heat here will hopefully quickly diminish, (would imagine about the first 5 mins in or arrival in Cork Airport!) My mother discribed the weather at home as the sky was touching the ground.

Herself is back lecturing again ..... no, no, no, students.... not me. Planning has started. It is a bit of time away yet tho... 4 months 1 week, 6 days, 22 hours, 16 mins and 45 seconds at 12:03 on July 3rd, but who's counting? For myself, I am a tad keen to go. We will have been here just shy of 6 years, a few too long, when we leave.

When I left Ireland, it was a different millenium and it seems so long ago that I am sure everything was in black and white. Of course we have visited on quite a few occasions since then, but that is quite different. Rushing from house to house over a short amount of days and trying out different flavours of hangovers wherever you go.

Wonder if the kids will be ok as far as health is concerned? They have avoided Malaria, Cholera, Dengue and Thyphoid here, but maybe there will get a cold when they go back, kinda puts that into prespective. Near family will be nice though, as we have missed out on so much. Watching the cousins grow up and of course the parties at home.

So whats happened here. Aoife has learned the words to 'twinkle, twinkle, uncle gar', counts in 3 different languages and has started to grow! An exceptionally funny lady with a great sense of humour. She needs it in this clan. Last week she started in nursery. Of course that lasted 3 days before she brought home a bug that had the whole house sick for a week.

The boy... oh the boy. When Aoife sees him in the morning, she says "Hello 'the Boy', how you doing?" Amusing. Oisín has a hairdo that his Grandad Ted would be proud of and Travolta of 'Grease' fame, just could not match. There are photos obviously

He has shot up and it putting on a considerable amount of weight. Along with the milk, he has steak and eggs every morning for brekkie. Ok he does not, but looking at the size of him, he does give that impression. He is in the top 95% of kids on the growth curve thingie in the book. He does look like me, quite a bit too (yup a real beauty) so questions can't even be asked. Maybe when we move to Cork and he get soaked in the rain a few times, he may shrink to more our size.

Just wonder how long before the Corkonians note that he will be ORK from Cork?
