One week old for the boy
The girl is coping well with the wee bro

? Lá le Pádraig shona daoibh. A Happy Paddies Day to you all.

Oisín and Aoife are getting on just fine. Oisín sleeps all day and Aoife plays, at night it switches around, so they are both happy with the arrangement. Their parents however... Actually everyone is 'holding up' quite fine.

The boy does not seem to have developed colic (as of yet), so when he wakes, he just lies there, then eventually whimpers a little for food. During the night he has been sleeping for 5-7 straight hours most nights in his extensive lifetime. Mother has been checking with the mirror under the nose, so we shall see if this continues!!!

He has invented a new game also, called 'Pissing on Dad, no matter which part of the room he is in', and I must admit, he does have natural talent. I stood in front of him as I lay him on the bed... so, what did I expect. But when mother did the same, I cleverly lay behind him, holding his leg aloof, whilst mother did the dirty deed. When he did let one go, he managed to get one over his shoulder and cover his dear old pop once again. So he is starting off as a Mothers boy!!

Mother on the other hand is a tad tired. Mumfi had the wee fella on her knee, 'burping' him after a feed. They were on the couch and Aoife got up beside them and started gently patting him on the back also. It was quite unexpected and unprompted. Just funny to watch.

When she is doing the heads, shoulders etc song (if you are not yet a parent, you will become frightfully aware of this noise at a later stage when you ahve had your first few) she points to my eyes, actually it is moreso sticking fingers right INTO my eyes. I was a tad nervous she may do the same to the boy. Not as yet and she is very gentle with him WHEN we are in the room. Again, we shall see....

Stay for the legroom The wee fella is quite long and growing quite quickly. He has gone much under the birth weight and has started quite early to put on the weight. As you can see he is almost out of leg room in the bed.

He is rolling onto his side since day 3, so soon enough we are expecting the 'Hammer Dance' from him and maybe a wee bit of the Riverdance.

The British Embassey staff have been great and have agreed to give us a passport earlier than expected, so we will be home on the 23rd March.

Paddy's day is upon us today and Mumfi has been having reservations about bringing the boy to the smokey pub for his first guinness... spoil sport as the Irish pub is only about 200 meters from the apartment. Aoife and I will have to sort it out together.
